Whats Makes the THE MONITOR Special ?
1. ALEXANDRIA AUDIO 8” Woofer
8” was made with a very specific parameters that is :
• A unique electrical and mechanical properties that allows the driver to produce music (a balanced of dynamic contrast, harmonics, macro and micro detail
extraction with excellent bass capability) includes :
Very low inductance voice coil,
Strong magnet
High B/L and high compliance mechanical properties
Healthy xmax with vented VC and spider.
• Low Fs of 25hz while keeping it’s sensitivity above 90dB
• Usable up to 3khz (with breakup away from the targeted use)
• No surround related issues (as exhibited with many low loss surrounds on
midwoofers – usually high Q dip at 1-1.5khz)
2. TWEETER
We choose a high sensitivity (94dB) and high power rating (120w) tweeter with powerful neodymium motor. It has shallow waveguide for the Monitor to have a
controlled directivity from 2.5khz and above, which means the off axis roll off are uniform compared to the on axis responses.
3. CROSSOVER
There were many iterations and revisions of Monitor’s crossover. The goal was simple, it is for the Monitor to be musical as it should be. A coherent and complementary management between the midwoofer and tweeter is our fundamental goal, we took it further with phase and frequency shaping to optimised the best musical ability of Monitor.
4. CABINETS
We choose birch plywood as our main materials, as we think it is the material that brings the sound closer to music as it’s higher resonance, stiff with it’s natural
properties.
5. FINE TUNING
We deliberately to use as much time as we can to tune the Monitor. It was first presentzed at Melbourne Audio Club in 2016 with series crossover
Followed by Sydney Audio Club in 2017 with parallel crossover
Aside from public appearances, we tested in numerous room setup, condition and iterations.
We made an error and mistakes along the way, one of those were when the Monitor has too much bass and another one was being a bit to forward. When we release the Monitor, it is a well matured and optimised loudspeakers that can be considered one the best in it’s class.
6. CALIBRATION and LISTENING TESTS
We have built an acoustic controlled Listening Rooms to test our products, where the average RT60 at 250msec. This is very useful and resourceful for us to calibrate our tuning further so that whenever our products enters client’s home, they will get the performance too.
7. STORY OF ORIGIN
We believe that one of the ways to get best musical performance from playback system is through a high sensitivity speakers. A high sensitivity speakers usually either big or horn-loaded, or having both big and horn-loaded. We understand that big speakers are not always welcome in a domestic setting, it can be intimidating or simply have no space for it. Our past products under Redefy consists few of the big and horn loaded speakers. Such as The TWO, a 15” Bass with 8” Midrange and Horn Tweeter.
The NEO, a 2way with 12” Midbass and Elliptical Horn Tweeter.
What people say about Monitor

SOUNDSTAGE AU - Reviews
“In general, there’s something quite special about a well-engineered standmount speaker, mainly in terms of driver summation, overall cohesion and that ole’ disappearing act. Combine those qualities with a standmount like The Monitor, which can also present scale and bass power like a small floorstander, and you’ve got something very exciting.” – Ed Kramer – Soundstage Australia
